Salvation of the Jewish race depends upon American Jews, according to Richard E. Gutstadt, director and secretary of the B’nai B’rith Anti-defamation League, who came from Chicago to address a large audience at a B’nai B’rith Day celebration here.
“If Nazi Germany is to be brought to her knees and made to act like a civilized nation, if the declassing of Polish citizens is to stop, if a quarter million Jews in Austria are to be spared a replica of the fate of their German brothers, if the mistakes of the redheaded Jewess, Magda Lupescue, are not to be reflected on our people in unfortunate Rumania, it will be due entirely to the united voice of American Jewry,” the speaker said.
