Twenty-three Talmud Torahs affiliated with the Vaad Ha’Chinuch have been aided by the Kehillah’s fund in the last seven months, it was reported by Rabbi Menahem B. Sacks, executive director of the Kehillah. Income of the education board in that period was $14,820, he announced at the annual meeting, with expenditures totalling $12,874.
Rabbi Norbert Rosenthal has been elected to fill the pulpit of Temple Judea here. He will assume his duties September 1st. At present Rabbi Rosenthal is spiritual leader of the North Town Jewish Community Center in Rogers Park.
