Dorothea Bloch Opera is Hailed in Rome

The opera “Asfodela,” composed by Dorothea Bloch, a New York Jewish girl, was performed here last night with great success.

Leading musicians and critics were present at the performance. This is believed to be the first time that an opera written by an American was performed in Rome.
