The Jerusalem Jewish Workers’ Council has addressed a communication to the Mayor drawing attention to the absence of a guarantee that local labor will be employed on a new reservoir being built here.

The council also points out that there is no assurance that a due proportion of Jewish labor will be employed. The council’s contention is that local workers, who are taxpayers, are entitled to work under the new contract in preference to outside labor.

A clause safeguarding an equitable proportion of Jewish labor is asked to be inserted into the contract for the reservoir.
