Warsaw (Oct. 20)
Over the protests of the prosecutor, a court in Lodz today dismissed the case instituted by three Jewish councillors against eleven Endek (anti-Semitic nationalist party) councillors when both parties reached an agreement to settle their differences amicably.
The action was the result of a riot in the Lodz ### Council last April precipitated by an attempt of the End### men to introduce an “Aryan” clause into the city ordinances barring Jews from employment by the municipal government. When
the Jewish councillors protested, the Endek group attacked them with inkwells and fists. Several Jewish leaders were injured, among them President of the Jewish Community Minzberg.
Following the disorder, the council was dissolved and a new one appointed.
