Young Israel is opening rotating colleges for its groups in seven cities in the United States and Canada, it was announced today by officers of the youth organization. The schools will offer courses four nights a week in Jewish philosophy, Hebrew language and literature and codes and ceremonials. Teachers will rotate in their assignments.
More than 10,000 persons are expected to take courses, said Moses H. Hoenig of New York, president of Young Israel. Courses will begin Jan. 12 in Chicago, Cleveland, Louisville, Rochester, Detroit, Toronto and Cincinnati. A school is already open in New York and serves 665 students.
