An order issued by the Ministry of Interior today provides that results of the recent Reichstag elections be used as a racial census to establish in the future the racial purity of German citizens.

The order means that those unable to prove that they voted in the election of March 29–first election in which Jews were officially barred from the polls under the Nuremberg laws–will be considered “non-Aryans.”

Effect of the order will be to simplify the complicated machinery for investigating racial descent, since a certificate testifying the holder voted, will be sufficient to prove his “Aryanism.”
