The Mayor of Algier took a hand today in checking anti-Semitic propaganda by personally tearing down anti-Jewish placards posted during the night and placing Jewish pickets to prevent display of others.

He acted after a protest from the Jewish war veterans against the violently anti-Semitic campaign being carried on by M. Coston, of Paris, a candidate in the forthcoming general elections.
