As a result of a telephone interview with the executive of the Jerusalem Jewish Community, District Commissioner Campbell considered today opening a branch of the Commissioner’s offices in the New City to spare Jews the necessity of entering the Old City, where tension has been high because of recent Arab disorders.

The community executive interviewed Mr. Campbell by telephone when it found it could not send a delegation to him because no taxi driver was willing to enter the Old City.
