The House of Lords, in a debate on the Sunday Trading Bill, rejected Friday an amendment extending Sunday hours from two to five p.m. for Jews who keep their shops closed on Saturday.

Marquess Dufferin, steering the bill for the Government, warned that the present anti-Jewish feeling would be increased by the requested extension of hours.
