Supposedly the most hunted man in Palestine, the famous Syrian rebel Fausi Bek Elkaukagi who is believed to have assumed command of the Arab rebellion, was reported today to have slipped into Jerusalem and conferred with Arab leaders.
According to the reports, the rebel chief assured the leaders that he could resist the British forces for a long time if a satisfactory supply of money and men was forthcoming from the Palestine Arabs.
Elkaukagi reportedly voiced his preference for recruiting bandit gangs from Syria and Iraq.
