The Wiener Neueste Nachrichten today quoted Bishop Alois Hudal, head of the Austrian Seminary in Rome, as saying a “more human” solution must be found for the Jewish question in Austria then the methods used in Germany, according to the Havas News Agency.

The Telegraff, commenting on the churchman’s statement, called it “a monstrosity” and refused to believe Bishop Hudop Hudal made the comment attributed to him. “We hope Bishop Hudal will protest against this coarse abuse of his name and his dignity as an Austrian and a prelate of the Catholic church.”
