Premier Mohammed Mahmoud Pasha told the Egyptian Senate today: “We have an opportunity for a solution (of the Palestine question) to the advantage of Palestine; we are authoritatively informed that a solution will be found satisfactory to the Arabs generally and to the Egyptians particularly.”

The Premier’s statement was made in reply to the question of Senator Mohammed el-Ginindi. It called to mind the proposal recently made by an Egyptian newspaper that Palestine be combined with Egypt, with citizenship rights granted to Arabs and Jews, Jewish immigration restricted and British military interests guaranteed.

Meanwhile, Yousuf Cattawi, the political leader, sent a letter to the Premier denying an allegation featured by the newspaper El Mokkatam that the Palestine Jews coveted the Moslem holy places.
