The semi-official Government newspaper Gazeta Polska today took issue with a statement by the World Jewish congress that creation of immigration possibilities for Jews should not prejudice their rights in the countries of abode. In an editorial on the Jewish emigration problem, written in connection with the London meeting of the Intergovernmental Refugee Committee, the newspaper asserted that instead of accusing countries with “surplus” Jewish population of anti-Semitism the accusation should be directed against the “So-called western democracies” possessing immense undeveloped territories and refusing to accept Jews from the overpopulated countries.
