Czech circles here report that to defeat refusal by the Czechs to keep their deposits in the Prague German bank, Boehmische Diskonto-bank und Kreditanstalt, the Nazi authorities have decreed that all Czech savings banks must place 30 percent of their deposits into the bank as a “permanent investment.” The money, it was stated, will be used to purchase Czech and Jewish properties, especially industrial concerns that the Nazis wish passed into German hands.
