The Associated Press, in a Rome dispatch today, quoted a “reliable informant just come from Jerusalem” as stating that scores of Jews and British police were injured in recent demonstrations and in one case British cavalry with drawn sabers charged to disperse a crowd. The largest demonstration was in Tel Aviv, with 15,000 Jews participating, the informant said. Ninety Jews were reported hurt in Haifa when police repulsed an attempt to burn a courthouse.
