The Hebrew University in Jerusalem is insurance that the Jewish people will continue to exist, Dr. Chaim Weizmann declared last night at the annual meeting of the British Friends of the Hebrew University. Dr. Weizmann is chairman of the university’s board of governors.

Other speakers included Viscount Samuel, first Palestine High Commissioner, who listed the university’s achievements and activities, and former High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, who said the university helped to promote amity among the two peoples in Palestine.

Sir Philip Hartog, prominent educator and head of the Friends, reported that a total of £13,613 had been sent to the university from England last year.
