280 Refugee Children Evacuated to French Interior

Download PDF for this date

Evacuation from Paris into the interior of 280 German Jewish children admitted into France before the war was completed today by the OSE, Jewish health protection society, under whose supervision the French authorities had placed the children.

Parents of most of the children are still in Germany, but some are in Latin American countries. The OSE will provide the children with complete education, food, clothing and lodging in special homes for the duration of the war. The OSE is completing preparations to move to Vichy in order to be near the children.
