Pegler Hits French Blows at Jews

The French Government was taken to task for anti-Semitic actions by Westbrook Pegler, in his column “Fair Enough” in the N.Y. World-Telegram today.

“The instinct to kick a Jew for every broken shoelace or hair in the soup is now taking command of the French Government,” he said. The French “insult the facts and the intelligence of all who saw anything of France in the last 20 years if they attempt to ignore their own dishonesty and corruption” among the causes of their downfall, Pegler said, adding: “This was not Jewish dishonesty and corruption but a native French trait.”
