LONDON (Oct. 23)
Colonial Undersecretary George Hall announced in Commons today that 5,265 certificates for Jewish immigrants to Palestine were issued between April and September. He said 1,725 Jews entered Palestine during that period.
The certificates included 1,400 distributed in the United Kingdom, 936 in Rumania, 722 in Lithuania, 610 in Hungary, 326 in Italy, 242 in Switzerland, 221 in Latvia, 186 in Yugoslavia and 126 in France. The validity of the certificates as yet unused has been extended to the end of 1940.
