A Permanent Delegation of Jewish Relief Organizations has been created by a nation-wide Jewish relief conference held here. Chief Rabbi Issaye Schwartz is head of the Delegation.

A larger advisory board of representatives of the large Jewish relief organizations was also named. The Delegation is entrusted with the responsibility of collecting funds in France for relief activity and also with coordinating and developing Jewish relief work.

The problem of providing assistance for Jews in France through work was one of the principal issues discussed by the delegates today attending the all-French Jewish Relief Conference here. It was decided to entrust the ORT with the entire organization and development of work relief and professional training activity for French Jewry. This involves a financial burden for the ORT estimated at about 6,000,000 francs yearly.

The ORT also has been entrusted with the organization of work relief in camps. This plan already has been approved by the Labor Ministry and now awaits approval by the Ministry of the Interior, which seems assured.
