With the deadline for alien registration past, Director E. G. Harrison today warmed “local officials, employers and others” that there was no Federal regulation requiring aliens to produce registration cards at the behest of anyone save Federal officers. He also pointed out that fewer than half of those registering have received cards from Washington and that distribution will not be completed for about six weeks.
