Local Jews have given a banquet for Polish troops stationed in Palestine, with the Polish commander, Mayor Isaac Rokach, municipal councillors and Polish Consul Heinrich Rosmarin among those present.

Mayor Rokach said: “I hope you will return home victorious, but when you are home again remember your minorities and give them their due.” The Polish commander said in reply: “Only suffering nations fully understand other nations’ plight. When we are home we will make good all the wrongs.”
