Uruguayan Scientists Appeal to Vichy for Release of Jewish Professor

A number of scientists, writers, artists and political leaders today sent a collective cable to Marshal Petain, heat of the Vichy Government, asking for the release of the well-known French-Jewish scientist, Professor Jean Hotsfeld, who together with his wife, is now in a concentration camp in unoccupied France. Dr. Hotzfeld was a professor at the Sorbonme.
