Polish Troops Stage Anti-semitic Demonstration Against Converted Jewish Writer

An anti-Semitic demonstration by Polish soldiers stationed in Scotland, is reported today in Wisdomosci Zydowskic independent London weekly.

The Polish paper discloses that recently members of the Polish Pen Club visited the Polish troops in Scotland and several of the group were scheduled to address the soldiers. Among the speakers slated to speak was the noted Polish writer Antoni Slonimski, a converted Jew. However, as soon as the gathering was opened by the Brigadier General a subaltern arose and asked Nin the name of the soldiers” that Sloninski be excluded.

As a result of this request all the members of the Pan Club group immediately left the hall, and did not return until the General in charge had apologized for the insult to Siloninsky. Upon Sloninski’s return to the hall the greater part of the audience.
