American Relief Worker Blames Gestapo for His Expulsion from France

Varian Fry, American relief workers, who was ordered expelled from un-occupied France, stated here today that he was “convinced that it was the Gestapo and not the French authorities who decided to put me out.”

Mr. Fry who had been engaged in refugee relief work in unoccupied France for more than a year as a representative of the Emergency Rescue Committee, was active in behalf of political, and intellectual refugees.
