The Swiss newspaper Gazette de Lausanne today reported that the trial of Herschel Grynszpan, who in 1938 assassinated the Nazi diplomat Ernst von Rath in the German embassy in Paris, will be held soon in Berlin.

The Nazis are staging this trial with a view of “exposing” a number of Frenchmen as well as instigating new anti-Jewish outbreaks throughout the Reich, it is said here. Grynszpan was handed over to the Gestapo by the Petain government in France allegedly under the armistice agreement. Some time ago it was reported that he had been tortured to death by the Nazis.
