Acting to supplement shrinking drug supplies which threaten to create shortages and health hazards in Palestine, the Hadassah today announced the establishment of a pharmacological institute for clinical research, and a pharmaceutics laboratory for the extraction of vitamins, hormones and allied substances in Jerusalem.

Scientists associated with the Hebrew University and the Rothschild-Hadassah-University Hospital, both of which are situated on Mt. Scopus outside of Jerusalem, will be jointly responsible for the new projects. Dr. A. Geiger, now head of the laboratory of general physiology of the Hebrew University, will have charge of the pharmaceutics program. The institute has been named the Hadassah-University Pharmacological Institute.
