Jews and Arabs alike received with enthusiasm the first units of the British First Army when they entered the Moslem city of Kairouan, in Tunisia, yesterday, British war correspondents reported today.

Victor Bajaoui, leader of the local Jewish community, bid welcome to the first British soldiers who entered the city in armored reconnaissance cars. He was still wearing a yellow Mogen Dovid which the Nazis forced all the Jewish population to don. He was told that no Jew in the city need wear a yellow badge any longer.
