Leading Jewish writers, poets and journalists in Palestine gathered here today at a conference called to discuss means of encouraging observation of the Sabbath.

The conference decided to take the following steps: Establish a permanent Council for Observation of the Sabbath. Issue a proclamation to the Yishuv. Start special radio broadcasts and publish articles on the subject. Open libraries on the Sabbath and arrange talks, singing of religious songs, and recital of ancient Jewish sagas and torah readings in public places.
