Jewish leaders as well as Polish liberal circles here are greatly surprised that the Polish Government has appointed Gen. Josef Haller as Minister for the Middle East to succeed Prof. Stanislaw Kot. A resolution protesting Gen. Haller’s appointment was adopted today at the 28th session of the Supreme Committee of the Revisionist Party.

Many Jews from Poland remember “Haller’s Army” which terrorized the Jewish population in Poland after World War I. It is pointed out that his past anti-Jewish activities may make it difficult for him to secure the confidence of the Jews in Palestine.
