Dr. Moses Eisenstadt, Former Chief Rabbi of Russian Jews, Dead

Dr. Moses Eisenstadt, noted Zionist, and chief rabbi of the orthodox Russian Jewish community in Paris until the German occupation of France, died here last night at the age of 73.

Before the Russian Revolution, Dr. Eisenstadt served in St. Petersburg for many years. After the revolution, he went to Paris, where he remained until April, 1941, when he came to the United States. He received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Berlin after studying at rabbinical colleges.
