Conditions created by the war have resulted in a threefold rise in accidents and industrial injuries in this city since 1940, according to a survey by the Red Mogen David, Palestine’s first-aid agency.
The survey showed that the agency extended first-aid to 20,432 persons in the current year as against 6,714 in 1940. It asked for 25 additional ambulances to cope effectively with the situation brought about by increased road traffic and the use of machinery and electrical equipment in war factories and farms.
