NEW YORK (Jun. 6)
The Union of Russian Jews today proclaimed a campaign for eye-glasses, frames and lenses to be sent to Russia and distributed by medical authorities there to people unable to do any work because of lack of eye-glasses.
The campaign was initiated as a result of hundreds of letters received by the Union from Jews in Russia revealing that there is a shortage of eye-glasses, which are hard to replace when lost or broken. The Jewish Council of the Russian War Relief and the Medical Department of the Russian War Purchasing Commission are cooperating in the “sight-saving campaign” launched by the union, an announcement said.
