Railway workers in Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia were urged today to prevent the deportation of Hungarian Jews to Polish death camps by sabotaging rail equipment being used to transport the Jews.
Broadcasting directly to central Europe, Paul Tofahrn, secretary of the Railwaymen’s Branch of the International Federation of Transport Workers, urged the railway men to “save your unfortunate fellowmen from death in the extermination camps of Poland, Prevent and delay their transport. Help them to escape, hide them, and defend them by sabotage.”
