The Swedish press today reports that for the first time the German Ministry of propaganda has openly admitted the mass-killing of Jews in gas chambers in Poland and the massacre of Jewish women and children by Gestapo troops.

The purpose of these open admissions, the Swedish papers explain, is to make the population of Germany realize that it has no reason to hope for mercy if the enemy occupies the country, and that, therefore, everyone must do his utmost to keep the Allies at bay.
