Polish Government Will Abolish Law Barring Ritual Slaughter, Says Foreing Minister

The Polish Government will shortly abolish legislation prohibiting the ritual slaughter of animals for food, Foreign Minister Wincenty Rzymowski assured a delegation of the Agudas Israel World Organization, consisting of Dr. Jacob Rosenheim, president of the organization, and Michael G. Tres, president of the Agudas Israel Youth Council of America.

After a discussion of various points contained in a memorandum submitted by the delegation, the Foreign Minister assured it that: 1- The Polish Government beesves in the same principles of democracy as the Western countries. Poland will not telerate any anti-Semitism, and is doing all within its power to eradicate this evil. 2- Poland welcomes all Polish Jews and assures them that they will be given full freedom and treated with full equality, especially the hundred thousand Polish Jews who are new in Soviet territory. 3- Poland will permit full freedom and practice of the Jewish religion and the rebuilding of religious communal life through the establishmeat of synagogues, yeshivas, talmud torahs, and Beth Jacob Schools.
