Paul Hoffmann, German commandant of the Maidanek representration camp, has been sentenced to death by a special court in Lublin, it was announced here today.
At least 2,000,000 people of whom it is estimated, about 1,500,000 were Jews, died in the gas chambers of Maidanek during the German occupation, Allied investigators have established.
