Dr. Theodor Herzl’s “Judenstast,” bible of modern Zionism, Dr. Leo Pinaker’s “Auto-Emancipation,” considered one of the first scientific, treatments of Zionism in relation to the Jewish problem, and a series of pamphlets dealing with the absorptivity of Palestine and the development of the country by Jews, are now being translated into Russian and will soon be sent to the Soviet Union, it was announced here today.
The project is under the auspices of the Committee to Foster Relations with the USSR, which intends to send the translated material to editorial offices of 80 publications in Russia, as well as to high government officials in Moscow.
An exhibition featuring documents, notes, photographs and reviews of Dr. Berzl’s “Judenstaat” on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its publication, will be opened Feb. 14 in the Herzl Room of the office of the Jewish National Fund here. A special program will be broadcast from the Herzl Room over the facilities of the Palestine Broadcasting System.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
