The appointment of Rabbi Joseph H. Lookstein, orthodox leader, as chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee’s Central and South American Committee and as a member of the J.D.C. Administrative Committee was announced yesterday at the New York offices of the J.D.C. Rabbi Lookstein visited South and Central America during 1945 on a speaking engagement for the Joint Distribution Committee.
