An appeal to American newspaper men, particularly those writing for the major wire services and radio chains, to “exercise caution in sifting facts” concerning events affecting the displaced Jews of Europe and the Palestine situation was issued here today by the American Association of English-Jewish Newspapers.

The organization, which embraces the major Anglo-Jewish weeklies in the country, voted the appeal at a meeting here yesterday. The meeting sent a communication to President Truman, commending his proposal to request authorization for the admission of more refugees to the U.S. and urging him to stand by his demand for the immediate admission into Palestine of 100,000 displaced Jews.
