The Jews in four displaced persons camps in southern Italy will go on a hunger strike September 1, if their demands for improved food and living conditions are not met by UNRRA by that time, it was learned here today.
The DP’s complain that they have been receiving moldy bread and decayed pass in their food ration. Camp committees have been meeting with A. Variachioni, an UNRRA director, but the discussions have been fruitless.
