Displaced Jews in the Fasoli camp, near Modena, completed a five-day hunger strike which they proclaimed in protest against the poor treatment which they received at the camp.

The Italian Government indicated that it would be ready to release the Jews from the camp, providing they agree to be repatriated in groups of five to Poland. The Jewish DP’s refused to accept this offer.
