World Rabbinate Will Proclaim Universal Day of Mourning for Nazi-exterminated Jews

The Synagogue Council of America has requested the cooperation of the rabbinate of the world in the proclamation of a universal day of mourning in commemoration of the victims of Nazi extermination in Europe.

The day is to be designated by the Synagogue Council, representing the Orthodox, Conservative and Reform rabbinic and congregational bodies of American Jewry, and approved by the chief rabbinates of Palestine, Great Britain, France, Italy and the rabbinic bodies of the American Jewish community.
