Mordecai Alperson, oldest Jewish writer in Argentina, died today at the age of 87. Born in Russia he came here in 1891 with his family as a member of one of the first groups to settle on Jewish Colonization Association land.

One of the founders of the Mauricia colony, Alperson was best known for his fictional treatments of Jewish life in the Argentine colonies. He was the author of “Thirty Years of Colonization in Argentina.”
