World Jewish Congress Urges U.N. to Bar Yemen Until Equality for Jews is Established

The World Jewish Congress has submitted a memorandum ## the U.N. urging that it withhold approval of Yemen’s application for membership until such time as that country grants full equality to all its inhabitants.

Charging Yemen with systematic discrimination against its Jewish residents, the ##randum declared that Jews in that country are compelled to pay a special head tax, ##re forbidden to leave the country under penalty of death, are barred from civil ser##ics and many industries and that all Jewish orphans are forced to embrace the Moslem ##aith.
