Four displaced Jews today went on trial before an American military court on charges of having kidnapped and assaulted two American soldiers at a camp near here. All four defendants pleaded not guilty.
Shortly after the session opened, the court granted a defense motion to ?stpone the trial in order to give defense counsel, which was recently appointed, ?equate time to prepare the case. The trial will be resumed Aug. 28, before a three in court.
A second motion by the two defense attorneys, to release the Jews on bail, is denied. The court assured the lawyers that their clients were receiving good ?eatment in the Nuremberg detention center. The attorneys spent the remainder of ?e day interviewing persons present at the scene of the beating.
