Of the 2,114 displaced persons who are being recruited to work as tailors and seamstresses in the Canadian clothing industry half will be Jewish, according to an announcement released by the International Refugee Organization.

A five-man Canadian selection team is interviewing applicants in Lower Saxony where it is expected the majority of the British zone quota of 300 Jews will be recruited. Five hundred displaced persons will be accepted from the British zone and 400 Jews and 264 others from the United States zone with the remainder from Austria.
