Two popular novels attacking anti-Semitism in America have been banned from the library of one of New York’s largest high schools, it was learned here today. “Gentleman’s Agreement,” by Laura Z. Hobson, was banned from DeWitt Clinton High School, in the Bronx, because “it makes light of extramarital relations,” and “Focus,” by Arthur Miller, was rejected by the school because “it is offensive to the Roman Catholic Church” according to a statement by, John B. Walsh, principal.
