The 26th anniversary of the establishment of the Jewish Institute of Religion was celebrated here tonight at a dinner honoring Dr. Stephen S. Wise, founder and president of the institute. close to 200 graduates of the J.I.R. are now serving as rabbis of congregations throughout the U.S. and as heads of educational and social welfare institutions, it was reported.
